Antigua’s (ANU) shoreline is washed almost exclusively by the Caribbean Sea and is hugged by 95 miles of superb coastline. The island is best-known for friendly and welcoming people, pink and white-sandy beaches, crystal clear waters, and the most satisfying and enjoyable climate in the world.

Family Resorts:

  • Budget: Pineapple Beach Club- all-inclusive family resort 40 minutes from the airport. The rooms are plain. They have 5 restaurants including The Outhouse with Caribbean BBQ.  It is on the top of the hill with a great view.
  • Moderate: Royalton Antigua (all-inclusive)- a 35-minute drive from the airport. Royalton offers a kid’s club for ages 4-12, and a teen lounge from ages 13-17. Beach is nice and is in a cove so the water is calm.  The food & service are average. The rooms are very modern.
  • Moderate:  St. James’ Club - large all-inclusive family resort 45 minutes from the airport.  Very geared towards British guests. Ideal for family getaways or romantic retreats.
  • Moderate:  The Verandah- large all-inclusive family resort 40 minutes from the airport. The rooms are a decent size but plain.  They have larger two-bedroom villas.  They have 3 pools. The beach is nice, but not large.  It is in a cove, so the water is calm.
  • Moderate:  Hodges Bay Resort in Antigua is an all-inclusive family resort 10 minutes from the airport. The resort has a modern feel with rooms that are modern and nice. They have some larger suites.  The beach is nice but small.  There is a dock on the property.
  • Moderate: Verandah Resort and Spa. Twenty minutes away from the airport. Eco-luxury all-inclusive resort. Perfect for family getaways or romantic escapes.
  • Luxury:  Jumby Bay a Rosewood resort. Located two miles off the coast of Antigua. All guests travel around the property via bike or golf cart. Good for families and couples. Quiet, laid back. High end everything.
  • Luxury: Carlisle Bay- Modern Rooms right on the beach. Very quiet. It has a backdrop of hills and rainforest. It has couples only suites and family-friendly suites.

Adults Only Resorts:

  • Luxury:  Galley Bay- all-inclusive- perfect for honeymooners or couples. The grounds are very lush and green--very tropical. 40 minutes from the airport.  Beach is nice, but the water can be a little rough. No bar service on the beach. Turtle sanctuary – the hotel will call you (if you request) when the turtles are hatching on the beach.  Oceanfront rooms are great and are right on the beach which you rarely see anymore.
  • Luxury: Hammock Cove- right next to The Verandah and is 40 minutes from the airport.  It is adults-only and all-inclusive. The suites are very nice and spacious.  There are many that have a direct ocean view and your own plunge pool.
  • Luxury: ​ Hermitage Bay in Antigua is an all-inclusive adults-only resort 40 minutes from the airport. High-End Resort, very luxurious. A small boutique with hillside/beachfront villas. One pool. They have one restaurant, but the menu changes daily.
  • Luxury:  Sandals Grande Antigua - Caribbean Beachfront Grove with lush, tropical gardens highlighted by brilliant bougainvillea combined with luxurious suites incorporating Mediterranean inspired elements both nestled against a powdery white-sand beach.

Activities:
With 365 beaches, there are definitely lots of water-based activities for water-lovers to engage in while in Antigua, whether it’s swimming with stingrays for the adventurous, a romantic sunset catamaran, a jet-ski adventure or a day spent exploring Barbuda or an offshore island.

Historic walking tours through St. John’s City and the UNESCO World Heritage Site in English Harbour and off-road island safaris are a fascinating experience. A horse-back ride or zip through the rainforest are just some of the other ways to discover the destination.
