Island Activities (dolphin swims aren't offered in St Lucia):
- Climb the Pitons
- Drive Thru Volcano
Tours by Island Routes:
- Wet & Wild Experience: Basically a buggy + catamaran combo tour to Soufriere. It’s exactly the same as the Soufriere Adventure, except instead of sailing to Soufriere in the morning you drive a bright green buggy down and then do the sunset sail back up. They have both 2-seater and 4-seater options and most of the buggies are manual transmission, automatics have to be specially requested.
- Piton Sunset Cruise
- Treetop Zip Trip
- Captain for a Day *great tour*
- Soufriere Adventure Cruise - Best all-around excursion. It includes all the musts in Soufriere (mud baths, waterfall, etc) PLUS the catamaran & snorkeling. It’s really comprehensive and there’s nothing that’ll take your breath away quite like seeing the Pitons for the first time from the water and then to be able to do ‘Soufriere’s greatest hits’ and go snorkeling at the base of the Pitons before a sunset catamaran cruise up the coast.
- Chocolate Decadence: This one is catamaran + mud bath + chocolate….and who doesn’t like chocolate? The food at Hotel Chocolat is unbelievable, and everything on the menu has some form of cocoa; both savory and sweet. The view of the Pitons from the restaurant is amazing.
- Luxury Seafood Catamaran Cruise & Luxury: First off, the vessel is to die for, the bar is fully stocked with premium wine and bubbles, you sail along the coast and get to go snorkeling and on top of all that there’s an on board chef preparing a 3 course seafood meal… doesn’t get any better than this!
- Mt. Pimard Segway ß It takes place in the North of the island (vs. the billions of others that go down to Soufriere) so you get to see a different side of St. Lucia. It’s the perfect excursion for returning guests to St. Lucia or those folks who only have a couple hours and don’t want to stray too far from the hotel. The feeling of riding a Segway is unique, it’s self-balancing (so no, you’re not going to fall) and because you’re not inside a bus it allows you to get up close and personal with the lush landscape with views of Reduit Beach, Rodney Bay and Pigeon Island.
- Best of St. Lucia Cultural & Heritage Tour ß this one is good for history buffs and those looking to situate themselves within the cultural/historical context of the destination . St. Lucians (like many Caribbean folks) are really proud of their history and culture so it’s a chance to get immersed in it. Try the cassava bread, it’s gluten free and delicious.
- Lucian Bar Hop Experience: It’s a way to get off the resort and see what the St. Lucian nightlife is all about. You’ve got a tour guide/party maker and of course a designated driver who take you to four different bars AND they bring free drinks to each stop (or you can purchase drinks from that location). PRO TIP: Book the one on Friday night because it’ll take you to the Gros Islet Friday Night Street Party as well!
- Treetop Zip Trip ß Nestled in the Dennery rainforest on St. Lucia’s east side are 12 ziplines – line #8 is the longest at 800 feet. They are connected by nature trails, wooden staircases and 5 net bridges (which If you ask me are way more of an adrenaline rush than the ziplining).
Restaurants:
Soufriere: Mango Tree, Buchon at Hotel Chocolat, Dasheene, Orlando's
Rodney Bay: Tapas on the Bay, Cliffs at Cap Maison
Very unique accommodations in St Lucia; multiple options offering cottages or villas with private plunge pools or walls removed to face the rainforests. Popular destination for honeymoons especially. Beaches are not big, sand is yellowish and water is not sparkling blue. It's a volcanic island.
Island Events: Friday Night Fish Fry & street party at Gros Islet
Casino:: Treasure Bay in Rodney Bay village, Saint Lucia’s only casino, has more than 200 slot machines and video poker games plus table games like blackjack, Texas Hold ‘Em, craps, and roulette and a sports bar. The casino is part of the upscale Baywalk shopping mall.
