Holbox
It’s a 2 hour drive from Cancun and 25 min ferry (200mxn-$10usd approx.) Lomas or Discova can escort your clients for the day. There are no cars on the island. All transportation is by golf cart or ATV including cabs. There are also no real streets everything is sand roads and some are in better conditions than others. Some of the golf cart rides can be pretty bumpy. When you get off the ferry at the marina, there are plenty of “taxis” waiting or you can rent your golf cart nearby.
The island is quite walkable. From one end to the other is maybe 1.5 hours walk maximum. You can also rent bikes or golf carts. Cabs are basically 70mxn ($3.50usd) anywhere you go. The cell phone reception and wifi on the island are not great. If your clients need to stay connected or work while away do NOT send them here.
The beaches are beautiful and quite wide in some areas. Similar to Tulum, the hotels are really small, probably no more than 50 rooms maximum because of this a lot of them don’t work with agents or aren’t set up to. No matter where you stay, going to beach clubs and different restaurants is all part of the fun.
Activities-there isn’t too much to do on Holbox-a very chill and relaxing island. The beaches are vast and you can walk out for what feels like miles and it will only go up to your knees. There are sand bars in the middle of the ocean which are cool to see and visit. The most popular tour is the 3 island tour that takes you to a cenote/lagoon, bird island and another spot where the flamingos are. They also have bioluminescence tours, bike tours, snorkeling tours, an escape room, cooking classes and horseback riding. Holbox is known for kitesurfing.
