Tulum

If your clients know what Tulum is all about and they WANT to specifically be in Tulum and you put them at one of the all-inclusive resorts near Tulum, they are NOT going to be happy.  The majority of the people want to be in the Tulum Hotel Zone where the hotel, beach clubs (reservations needed), trendy restaurants and shops are.

It is very important to qualify clients for Tulum. Tulum is off the grid and is run on generators. Sometimes and some places cell and wifi can be a little spotty. Food is great, but restaurants on the beach road are not cheap.  Some are decent prices but a lot are more Miami prices.  A lot of the hotels do not have pools. The beach clubs at hotels are open to outside guests. The beach road is where most people will want to stay, but there is also the town and the jungle areas.  All the hotels are EP except Kore which is very average are not sold by our preferred suppliers and a lot of the hotels don’t work with TA’s, etc.  It’s a very trendy, boho-chic Instagrammable destination.

Clients are likely NOT looking for these resorts if they request Tulum: Secrets Akumal (25 min on the hwy), Unico (30 min on the hwy) Esencia (35 min on the hwy), Dreams Tulum (15 min on the hwy), Catalonia Royal Tulum (30 min on the hwy), Palmaia (similar concept, but 1 hour on the hwy).
