Turks & Caicos

PLS-Amazing beaches, uncommercialized, small island. VERY clear water. Most resorts are EP. There is a conch farm & lots of sailings, but no shopping or much of anything else to do on the island. Gambling is legal, but there are only two small casinos on the island. Expensive island, everyone speaks English.

Families welcome, but nothing for children to do. Clientele supposedly heiresses, billionaires and the sort looking to disconnect. “Not the Kardashian crowd.” Very expensive ($6000/nt high season) for 1-bedroom villas. Very specific client for this property. And very, very quiet.

  • Wymara – Former Gansevoort. Trendy, boutique, South Beach inspired. 10 min from airport. 91 rooms. On Grace Bay Beach. BP included. Studios, suites, villas on property. • Royal West Indies – 10 min from airport on Grace Bay Beach. Boutique mid-range hotel good for couples and families. Very chill. Great location. • Da Conch Shack is in the Blue Hills and is an absolute must for any visitor (or local for that matter).
  • Bugaloos Conch Crawl: Live music outside waterside.
  • Infiniti Grill – This is the restaurant at Grace Bay Club. It is a favorite restaurant by far in the Caribbean. Great for special occasions. Very romantic.  Order the chocolate lava cake (I believe it’s call Chocolate Symphony) when you order your dinner to ensure you get it for dessert. You won’t be sorry! Bring your camera for superb sunsets. Reservations are necessary. You will also find a really cool outdoor lounge with fire pit as well as the famous Infinity Bar here. A must!!!

  • Seven-upscale dining at Seven Stars
  • The Landing:  outdoor tables with beach sand under your feet so you can dine barefoot on the sand
  • Mango Reef
  • Pelican Bay: has an all-you-can-eat grill option including three different styles of lobster and steak/jerk chicken

Spa:
The Palms: This is hands down one of my all-time favorite spas. Simply beautiful.

It is relatively easy to get around via taxi, but if you want to try a car rental, it is recommended.  We could explore the island and get out to all the great restaurants and just had such a great experience.  This island is small and as long as you have the map, easy to get around. There's no traffic. The streets aren't all marked, which is why the map is useful. Driving is on the left. But once we did it, we loved it. Just a lot of fun. Most places you'll want to check out are in Grace Bay, but there are other spots around the island definitely worth visiting and a car might come in very handy for you.

Smith's Reef is one of the top reefs in the world for snorkeling.   If you are into snorkeling, you might want to buy the gear at Target and take it with you. And head off to Smith’s Reef.
